First Things First: Secure Your Account

After registering your Binance account, the most important thing isn't rushing to buy crypto -- it's getting your security settings right. After logging in, go to the "Security Center" page and configure the following.

If you just registered and are still on the website, make sure you accessed it through the Binance official site. Mobile users who haven't installed the app yet can download the APK now.

Set up Google Authenticator: This is currently the most secure two-factor authentication method. Download the Google Authenticator app, scan the QR code provided by Binance to link it. Once set up, you'll need to enter a dynamic verification code for every login and operation.

Set up an anti-phishing code: In your security settings, you can customize a text string. From then on, all official emails from Binance will display this string, helping you identify real vs. fake emails.

Link your phone number: If you registered with an email, consider adding your phone number as a second layer of verification.

Second: Complete Identity Verification

Click on your profile icon and go to the "Identity Verification" page. Follow the prompts to upload your ID document and complete facial recognition. Once verified, you'll be able to buy crypto with fiat, use P2P trading, and access higher withdrawal limits.

Have your ID card or passport ready, upload the photos, complete the facial scan, and approval usually comes through within a few minutes.

Third: Familiarize Yourself with the Interface

Spend a few minutes exploring the different sections of Binance. The homepage shows a market overview, the "Trade" section is where you buy and sell, and the "Wallet" shows your assets.

Try browsing through price charts of various coins on the "Markets" page to get a feel for the market. There's no rush to place orders -- first learn to read candlestick charts and order book information.

Fourth: Make a Small Deposit to Test the Waters

Once your identity verification is approved, you can make a small fiat deposit through P2P trading to buy some USDT (stablecoin). For your first time, keep the amount small -- a few dollars is enough. The goal is to get familiar with the deposit and trading process.

Once you have USDT, you can go to the spot market to buy Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency that interests you.

Fifth: Set Up Price Alerts

The Binance App supports custom price alert functionality. Select a coin you're watching, set a target price, and the app will send you a push notification when the price is reached. This way, you don't have to stare at the screen all day and won't miss good buying opportunities.
