How to Update the Binance App on iPhone?

· About 6 min · CoinWiki Editorial

Binance App releases new versions regularly to fix bugs, optimize the experience, and add new features. Keeping it updated is important, but the update method on iPhone depends on how you originally installed it.

It's recommended to regularly visit the Binance official site for the latest version information and download links. Android users can directly download the APK for the newest version.

Updating When Installed via Overseas Apple ID

If you downloaded Binance from the App Store using an overseas Apple ID, the update process is straightforward. Sign out of your current China-region Apple ID, log in with the overseas Apple ID you used for the download, open the App Store, go to the "Today" or "Account" page, and pull down to refresh for updates. If a new version is available, tap the update button. You can switch back to your domestic Apple ID after the update.

Updating When Installed via TestFlight

TestFlight version updates are the most convenient. When Binance releases a new test version, TestFlight automatically sends a notification. Simply open the TestFlight app, find the Binance App, and tap "Update." You can also enable automatic updates in TestFlight settings so new versions install automatically after release.

Updating When Installed via Enterprise Certificate

Enterprise certificate versions typically don't support automatic updates. When a new version is available, you'll need to revisit the Binance website and download the latest installation package. Sometimes the new version will install directly over the old one, preserving your login state; other times you may need to uninstall the old version first before installing the new one.

How to Know If You Need to Update?

After opening the Binance App, if there's a mandatory update, the app will show a pop-up prompting you to update. You can also check the current version number in the app's "Settings" or "About" page, then compare it with the latest version on the Binance website. If the version numbers don't match, a new version is available.

Pre-Update Precautions

Before updating, make sure your phone has enough storage space. If you use Google Authenticator or other two-factor authentication tools, confirm they're working properly in case you need to re-login after the update. Updating over Wi-Fi is recommended for reliable download speeds and stability.

What If the App Crashes After Updating?

In rare cases, crashes may occur after updating. Try restarting your phone, or uninstall and reinstall the latest version. If the problem persists, it may be a compatibility issue between the new version and your iOS version β€” wait a few days for a fix to be released.
