Can You Recover a Deleted Binance Account?

· About 7 min · CoinWiki Editorial

Whatever your reason for wanting to delete your Binance account, make sure you understand whether recovery is possible and what preparations to make before proceeding.

If you're still deciding whether to register, visit the Binance official site to learn about the platform, or download the APK to try the features before making a decision.

Can You Recover After Deletion?

After deleting your Binance account, recovery is possible within a cooling-off period. This period is typically 120 days (about 4 months). During the cooling-off period, you can contact support to request account recovery.

After the cooling-off period expires, account data may be permanently deleted, making recovery very unlikely.

What You Must Do Before Deletion

Step one: Withdraw all assets. Make sure all accounts (Spot, Futures, Earn, Funding, etc.) have zero balances. After deletion, any remaining balance may be unrecoverable.

Step two: Redeem all Earn products. If you have Locked Earn products still in their lock period, wait for them to mature before deleting.

Step three: Cancel all open orders. Cancel all unfilled spot and futures orders.

Step four: Close all futures positions. Any open futures positions must be fully closed.

Step five: Remove all API bindings. Delete all API keys to prevent issues from APIs continuing to operate after deletion.

Step six: Export trade records. You won't be able to access historical trade data after deletion β€” export and save backups in advance.

Account Deletion Steps

Step one: Log into the Binance web version and go to the "Security" settings page.

Step two: Find the "Delete Account" option (usually at the bottom of the page).

Step three: The system will prompt you to confirm there are no remaining assets in the account.

Step four: Read and confirm the deletion terms.

Step five: Complete security verification (email + phone or Google Authenticator).

Step six: Submit the deletion request.

How to Recover During the Cooling-Off Period

If you change your mind after deletion, during the cooling-off period you can:

Step one: Visit the Binance website and try to log in. The system may indicate the account has been deleted and offer a recovery option.

Step two: Contact Binance online support, provide your registration email, phone number, and other information, and request account recovery.

Step three: You may need to complete identity verification again.

Step four: After successful recovery, check whether your account data is intact.

Can You Re-Register with the Same Email?

Typically, after the account is fully deleted, you can use the same email or phone number to register a new account. However, the new account is completely fresh β€” no historical data, and no previous VIP level.

When Deletion Is Not Recommended

If you just temporarily don't want to use Binance, there's no need to delete your account. Inactive accounts don't incur any charges, and leaving it idle has no negative impact.

If security is your concern, you can disable all APIs, change your password, and enable all security verification methods β€” this is more practical than deleting the account.

Only consider deletion when you're certain you'll never use the platform again and have properly handled all assets.
